Customer Service: As a customer service agent your job will be to answer customer billing questions, help customers with their issues related to the company's products or services. Virtual customer service jobs will require that the agent be very patient, have excellent listening skills as the majority of your work will be understanding customers issues and finding solutions to those problems. While work at home customer service jobs are the easiest to acquire when seeking a work at home call center job, some of the customer service jobs do require that you conduct some phone sales. When applying for virtual call center jobs, make sure that you read your contract carefully, especially if you do not enjoy selling. Rather apply for a job that will be strictly customer service and no phone sale involved.
Phone Sales: within virtual call center jobs phone sales agents will be required to sell. You main responsibility while on the phone is to sell company products and services. While inbound call center phone sales is easier than outbound call center phone sales, your job as a phone sales agent will still require that you do hard core sales. Telemarketing: telemarketing is one of the most challenging industries to work in as a work at home call center agent. Your job primarily involves calling people or businesses and selling them on the company's services or products. Unlike inbound call center phone sales, your jobs as a telemarketer is to make out bound calls. These calls are unsolicited and a majority of business and individuals do not care for unsolicited phone calls. While you can make more money as a telemarketer, the stress, rejection, and rude people you will encounter can outweigh the benefits of more money. Some people have the personality to deal with those kinds of on the job hazards, other people are not equip to deal with the telemarketing call center industry. Make sure that you read your contract careful when applying for virtual call center jobs.
