Getting a six pack can be difficult, but it doesn't have to be confusing. With a clear plan and a lot of simple hard work, getting your six pack can even be enjoyable.
One of the primary components of getting a six pack is dropping the fat on your abs. This will allow your strong abdominal muscles to show out onto the world.
So...
- Why Run? -
Running is simple. Virtually everybody can do it. And all you need are a good pair of athletic shoes and your workout clothes.
And running can be done virtually anywhere. Why not run?
- How To Run -
Many people believe that you need to run tons of hours a day on the treadmill or outside to drop fat. Jogging, jogging, jogging till the cows come home.
However, if you take that route you'll end of looking like most marathon runners look - with the sort of skinny-fat appearance. Skinny bodies, but with a little fat still there and undefined muscles hanging on their frames.
Humans, and all animals for that manner, are meant to move quickly in short bursts of motion and then slow down. This steady-state running is simply unnatural.
Instead, try sprinting in short intervals. By sprinting you push yourself to the limits of your ability, tire yourself, burn calories quickly, and then take a short rest.
An example of this would be 30-60 seconds of sprinting, followed by 30 seconds of walking to rest. This will force you to work harder, and take much less time to do your workout (10 to 20 minutes) than normal.
- What If I Can't/Don't Like/Hate Running? -
Cardio is the big thing here, and running is great because it's so accessible. But, if you like biking, rollerblading, swimming, or any other kind of aerobics, you can do those.
The important thing is to keep the interval method. It's a really good method of not only shortening your workouts, but also getting a really great results from them.
- How Often? -
In the beginning, doing interval sprint training 2-3 times a week is an excellent goal. This will help you lose weight, and get you accustomed to working out regularly.
Also, getting a six pack requires some time and dedication. Starting slow will keep you from getting inured in the first few weeks of your effort, so you have the greatest opportunity of reaching your goal.
- What Do I Need To Do Besides Running? -
Getting a six pack is not just about running, unfortunately. You need to do ab exercises to build up your abdominals and eat the right amounts of food to make sure to lose weight.
Also, you need to include weight training if you want to make the rest of your body ripped along with your abs. And taking this approach burns more calories and helps you get to your six pack faster.
Running is an essential component, but not the whole show. So, how do you work it all together into a plan for getting six pack abs?
