Many people can tell you what you should look for when ordering promotional gifts. They may not be able to help you avoid ordering mistakes and mix-ups that can cost your company a large amount of money. If you know what questions to ask and what to look for you can often avoid many of the common mistakes that other people make. Here are a few things to avoid.
Not Looking At Your Proof
One of the big mistakes that people make is not proofreading what the company will be putting on their promotional gifts. This can lead to spelling mistakes and other typos. Spell check is helpful but even if we have excellent spelling we may still end up mistyping information. Most companies will provide you with a proof, even if it may just be electronic. Look at it carefully. Have a second person look at it carefully. They may see mistakes that you did not. It may take a little time but it is worth it in the end.
Not Dealing With A Company That Is Dedicated To Promotional Gifts
If you do not deal with a company that deals regularly with promotional gifts you may run into problems. They may not be able to provide you with items in a large enough quantity. They may also not have the ability to print or embroider your information on the products that you have ordered. If they have to send the items out to have the printing or embroidering done it can slow your order down and add to the cost of it as well.
Not Reading Company Terms And Conditions
This is one area where people make a lot of mistakes. They simply order and do not look at a company’s terms and conditions. This may mean that they end up paying more due to minimum order fees or delivery charges. They may also order from a distributor that is located far away, which can increase the time that it takes for your items to get to you. By reading over the fine print you will be able to avoid these problems.
As you can see, there are simple mistakes that many people make when ordering their promotional gifts. By being careful about the items that you order and making sure that you check over the information that the company is sending you it is usually very easy to choose inexpensive promotional gifts that will help get your company and its products noticed.
