Whether your company is offering a 'green' product or not, it's increasingly difficult to ignore the trend toward environmentally friendly company practices. A large number of customers now evaluate a company's environmental responsibility before they buy, and won't buy at all if you don't measure up. Using environmentally friendly trade show exhibits is a great way to show potential clients that you care about the earth without sacrificing the great appearance of your portable exhibits.

Recycled Material In Trade Show Exhibits

There are many ways that recycled materials can be used in parts of your display. Many exhibitors choose to use a flooring material in their trade show booths. If you prefer to do so, make a choice that's environmentally responsible. Most companies that offer flooring rentals or sales will have eco options such as recycled rubber or carpet fibers. Recycled rubber has a foam-like texture, which can be great for the tired feet of visitors. It's also easy to clean up if you are worried about spills. Repurposed carpeting options are more difficult to clean, but offer a classic carpet feel.

The amount of recycled material that can be used above the floor will vary depending on the details of your design. If you are not seeking something that must meet very exacting specifications, you may be able to use certain recycled materials. Ultimately, you are limited by your own design; the company will only be able to use new materials in some cases. If you find yourself in such a situation, consider whether having additional recycling is more valuable than having your ideal design. In many cases, this will not be a problem.

Reusing Your Portable Exhibits

Many companies are surprised to learn that one company can share portable exhibits among multiple divisions. In fact, many booths have interchangeable panels designed to be switched. They are easy to set up and tend to be lightweight, making the entire process simple. The frames for these mobile displays are typically plastic or metal, two materials not known for their ecological value. Reuse the display you have, and you won't have to absorb the resources required to build a new one. If you do need more than one set of display panels, see about having them made from recycled materials for further ecological benefit.

Low-Energy Fixtures And Energy Consciousness

Energy waste is surprisingly prevalent in trade show exhibits. The amount of lighting and other electronics can sometimes be unnoticed, and a substantial amount of power is simply unused. To ensure that you stay green, use only high-efficiency lighting and electronics in your booth. In the case of modern lights, having them in your portable exhibits helps you as well: they are very long lasting, and won't typically need to be replaced during the lifetime of your exhibit.

It's Easy To Be Green!

The key to making your portable exhibits more environmentally friendly is being mindful of what you use and how you use it. Simple decisions, like printing your flyers on recycled paper, can go a long way toward helping the planet. Whether your customers know they're looking for eco-friendliness or not, being green is always good for your brand.
