Although there are numerous foods that have been dubbed ab power foods, there are three that stand out from the crowd. Broccoli, steak and oatmeal all have the right make up to supply to body with the adequate energy, protein, and nutrients needed to sculpt the perfect abs. So as strange as the list may sound, you should consider stocking up on these three items if you want to have lean chiseled abs. The food items will provide you with all you need and do so with very little caloric intake. So stock up!

Broccoli

When most think of broccoli, they don't think of it as being a great food to get lean chiseled abs, but surprisingly it is. Broccoli is full of fiber which helps you feel fuller longer, which will reduce the amount of calories you feel the need to eat throughout the day. The less calories you eat, the more likely those abs are not going to get covered with a layer of flab. However, the main reason why broccoli is a great ab food is because it is high in iron.

Getting well defined abs requires hard work out, and broccoli is loaded with iron which is able to boost your energy level and help you through your work outs with little to no caloric intake. Broccoli is also high in chromium which helps regulate your insulin levels which keeps your body from storing fat.

Steak

Red meat is always good for building muscle because of the high protein content that it contains. However, its benefits go beyond the high protein count. Good lean red meat will also provide you will a high level of iron which will help you increase your energy and therefore better your workouts. Red meat is also high in zinc which increases hormones such as testosterone and IFG-I which help build muscle. Choosing lean cuts of red meat can also make it a great diet tool as the low calorie count still provides your body with much needed protein and other nutrients.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a great way to feel full longer on a small amount of calories. Not only will oatmeal keep you feeling fuller longer, but it will also help regulate your insulin level. This is great as a high insulin level will slow down your metabolism and will promote the storage of fat which could build up around your midsection. Oatmeal has also been known to boost your level of testosterone which will not only help you build up muscle, but it will also increase your sex drive.

When choosing oatmeals, always make sure to choose the unflavored instant varieties. Many pre-flavored varieties are loaded with sugar which will have a negative effect on your diet.

Diet alone can not give you great ads, but it is a good start. Adhering to the proper diet, in addition to following a strict abs routine, will give your the abs you always wanted. It will take hard work and discipline, but once you see your 6 pack and all the attention it receives, you will be glad you worked so hard for it.
