If you want to make real money online, you are going to have to learn many different skills. However, the number one skill that you will have to master is the ability to generate traffic. Whether you have a blog or website, the amount of traffic that you will be able to create will determine whether or not you even make money. They say that in real estate, it's all about "location, location, location". Well for successful internet marketing, it's all about "traffic, traffic, traffic." If you want to make ongoing income using the internet, you need to learn techniques and strategies that will bring you sufficient traffic.
Answer this question: which would make more money, a crappy-looking website with lots of daily visitors going to it or a spectacular-looking website with no traffic? The first site, of course. Even though the second one is filled with high quality graphics and has incredibly persuasive ad copy, if no one visits it, it will not generate any income. The first site, even though it could look very unprofessional, will still make income due to the fact that it is getting traffic.
Traffic generation is key to your ability to make real money online!
Fortunately for you, there are plenty of ways to get people to visit your blogs or websites. That being said, it's not recommended to try out too many different marketing strategies at once. Like many things in life, it's better to be an expert in one thing than to be the master of all trades. You need to focus on one strategy to start with it and become an expert at it. For most traffic generation techniques, you won't see immediate results. You have to have the discipline and patience to learn the correct actions to take and then to take those actions consistently.
Here are a few types of traffic generation methods:
-
Article marketing. If you have a website, one effective way to promote it and get visitors to stop by is through the writing and submission of articles to article directories. Individuals who find your articles will be directed to your website via the link that you will include in the author resource box at the bottom of your article.
-
Blog commenting. Whatever niche your blog or site is in, chances are that there are plenty of blogs related to it. Find a few posts and leave relevant comments on them. Most blogs allow you to include a link back to your site when you leave a comment.
-
Forum signatures. Just as there will be blogs in the niche that your site is in, there is most likely going to be forums related to it. Sign up to be a member of one of these forums and be sure to include a link back to your site in the signature section. After that, create informative threads and reply appropriate to established threads. Each time you do this, your signature will be promoting your site.
You can make real money online only if you master the ability to consistently drive people to your sites and blogs. Start with one strategy and stick with it until you start to see results. If you can generate traffic, then you are well on your way to making long-term profits with the internet.
