School fundraising is basically done when the members of a school need to collect, gather, or raise a set amount of money needed to get a project up and running such as building a new playground where students can play and have fun. When carrying out fundraiser ideas, schools need to bear in mind that what they choose to do should be able to represent their school and their cause so that they can encourage people to take part in what they have to offer and thus; raise the money that they need. I will be providing you a few unique elementary school fundraising ideas in this article that might of great use to you and your school.
First off, you can try hosting plays. These events are considered as one of the best elementary school fundraising ideas as to the reason that they have the ability to gather a huge crowd. This would be so since parents will surely be interested to watch their kids perform on stage in front of a large audience. Seeing one’s child do his or her best will be of great value to a parent, which is plays are one of the best and fastest ways for schools to raise the funds that they need. When you decide to carry out a play, be sure to choose one that will be interesting to watch. You can also try setting up a play that will portray or tell the story why you need to raise money. Regardless of the type of play that you will be doing, be sure to advertise or spread the word about it as much as you can so that you can let people know that you are throwing an interesting event and you want to ask their support by inviting them to attend.
Another fun and interesting event to host would be marathons. In here, you can decide to have walk-a-thons or bike-a-thons. Like the latter, this will allow you to gather a huge crowd that will most likely be composed of proud parents. Choose a good venue where you will have enough space for the event. If your school has a soccer field that is big enough for this, you can try to use that. Like the latter, you also need to set up an admission or registration fee for this. Print numbers that will be placed on the shirts of your participants so that they get the feel that they are really doing a marathon. This will get students and parents really excited. You can try choosing a prize for the winner. On the other hand, you can also try doing things differently by telling your students to ask pledges from their parents for each lap that they get to finish. For example, if one of your students gets to finish one lap, his or her parents will donate $5. Be sure to provide refreshments for your students as they will surely be tired once the marathon is over.
