There are a few different types of bbq grill available. Some work really well, others are not quite as efficient. There are charcoal varieties, portable types and disposable versions, but nothing really beats a gas bbq grill for its efficiency and portability. Anyone who has a gas bbq gets more out of the whole experience. The food is better cooked and there is very little mess at all. This article acts as a guide to the choices you have available when it comes to purchasing a bbq.
Disposable BBQ
Although these always seem like a good idea, the reality is there are not. They are very small and often have a very scant supply of charcoal in them. They sit in metal containers but if you leave them on the grass the grass will scorch. You also can't place them on a wooden table as this too will scorch. They must be placed on stones or bricks and preferably at a height that makes cooking easy without having to bend down. Lighting them is fairly straightforward although you can't cook on them until they have reached the right temperature. The window of opportunity to cook is small however, it doesn't take long until the charcoal has started to cool down, and you cannot refill it either to increase the heat. Disposing of them cannot be done until the coals are cold which makes them problematic on days out.
Brick BBQ
Many people choose to make a bbq out of a few heat resistant bricks in the garden. They do look nice there is no denying that, but they are clunky to say the least. They cannot be moved around so the party must always go to it, rather than the other way around! These need to be fueled by charcoal which is quite a dirty, messy experience. Charcoal grills need constant attention and the heat cannot be controlled. It is vital that the right length of time passes before the food is placed on the grill as otherwise it will burn to a crisp. Often the heat dissipates too quickly before all the food has been cooked, and although a refill is possible, this essentially means the bbq starts from scratch so more waiting time is needed before cooking is possible.
Portable Gas Grill
These are the best of all the possibilities. Gas bottles are easily attached and the bbq is lit purely with a turn of a dial and the strike of a match. Putting it out is simple too, no jugs of water required. The heat is distributed perfectly on a gas bbq so everything is cooked well and this makes it possible to enjoy more fish, seafood and vegetables on it as they are more easily cooked. The portability is unique and enables families to really enjoy their days out to the beach or in the park. A portable gas grill makes camping holidays even better value for money as the whole family can eat for less. There is no mess, no smoke and no charred bits of meat as the result. Anyone thinking of purchasing a bbq should choose gas. Although you may feel like you are cheating, and nothing beats a traditional bbq, one use of a gas grill and you will change your mind. The same bbq taste is provided but without any of the disadvantages.
Although static varieties are available and disposable types too, gas bbq grills are the ideal type. They are clean and easy to use and produce great tasting food. The same gas cylinder used on the bbq can be used to fuel a portable gas heater too so you can kill two birds with one stone. Gas heaters and bbqs work better than the rest - there is no doubt about it.
