Did you have an accident at work? Did you suffer any major injuries as a result of it? Well, if you did then you are entitled to make a claim. In fact, any injury you suffer during the course of your daily work duties can result in a successful work injury claim. The challenges are typically more complex. Chances are that you are still working and that you probably don't want to get in trouble with your employer. Its never an easy situation if you have to get legal with your boss, but in reality the law is one your side.

No employer is allowed to lay you of because of a claim you make against him - either directly or indirectly. Another issue can be with your fellow employees. It can be an uncomfortable situation if some of them were involved. The truth is that unless you take action, you will lose out. Its important that the accident did not occur as a result of your direct negligence. Its important that you followed company procedures at all costs. its also important that you reported the accident to your superior(s) as soon as possible.

Most people are overly scared of making a work injury claim. Your employer is most probably insured and in case of a claim it will probably not even come out of their pocket. Employers are well aware of the legal implications of work accidents and most of the time they will work with you to try and make a successful claim with their insurers.

If your employer does not co-operate with you, or worse if they let you go after an accident then the matter gets more serious and you should definitely consider legal action. Most of the time these cases get settled out of court and the legal fees will then have to be covered by your employer.
