With millions of websites out there, getting traffic to your site is not supposed to be an easy task - but creating mini-nets with relevant quality content is still an incredibly effective way to get noticed and get on top of the search engine results.

Mini-nets are also called SEO wheels or link wheels because of the way they direct the links back to your main authority sites. I prefer the term 'mini-nets' because SEO wheels or link-wheels make an assumption that the purpose of creating them is just obtaining lots of back-links. Marketers who place their focus on getting as many links as possible typically use spinners or rewriting services with the aim of launching multiple versions of the same article or a video. By spinning an article they hope to present it as unique each time, and fool search engines into giving them better rankings.

I'd like to dispense with this short-sighted strategy, and show you how to use mini-nets the way they're meant to be used: by providing quality content directly to your target audience.

Using article-spinning services is fundamentally flawed because it does not create anything new - it's just a method of re-hashing already existing content. Instead, make sure that each website in your mini-net contains a unique angle on the topic you're covering. This is easier explained with an example: let's say that you main message is 'quit smoking'. While the main message, 'quit smoking', never changes, it is possible to look at this same topic from a number of different perspectives:

Social aspect

Smoking is becoming increasingly unacceptable from the social point of view.

Financial aspect

The heavy taxes and retail of tobacco products is incredibly high - by quitting you can afford an extra great holiday every year.

Health consequences

Smoking is known to cause a whole range of diseases, including emphysema and lung cancer.

Weight gain

Some people postpone their quitting decision because they're afraid of gaining weight as a result.

You can easily come up with many more fresh perspectives: when people attempt to quit smoking, many experience anxiety, cravings, inability to concentrate, anger and depression, restlessness, fatigue, headaches, constipation and irritability. Each of these can serve as a subject for a different article, video, audio, or another piece of content.

This way, you'll be providing content that is offering fresh perspectives and truly unique. For some people, social aspects would be a lot more important than possible health consequences. For others, realizing how much money they waste on an unhealthy habit would come as a shock.

The idea here is to spread your message wide and give a different perspective depending on your target audience. For instance, I'd probably go for Facebook when talking about smoking being socially unacceptable.

When you then link your various web properties to your main authority site and to each other, you'll have an airtight mini-net which reaches your target markets regardless of where they are. your message will be a lot stronger thanks to covering all important perspectives. Consequently, your content will be perceived as truly valuable both by your visitors and the search engines, with the result of having a free, permanent and qualified stream of traffic to your website.
