Are you looking for a great way to lose weight? Believe it or not, by simply changing your diet, you can easily lose pounds on the scale instead of seeing the numbers on it go higher!

Here are some great ways to supercharge your weight loss regime:

  1. Drink Lots of Water

About 60 to 70% of the human body is made up of water. In order for your body to actually maintain its healthy functions, you need to drink about 2L of water each and every day.

  1. Vitamins and Minerals

Without a doubt, vitamins are essential for everyone. Every vitamin has a specific role in your body ranging from vision to fat metabolism. By simply eating a healthy and well-balanced diet, you will fuel your body with the right vitamin levels. Alternatively, multi-vitamin pills can be useful.

Minerals are required as we would not be able to physically move without them. Any mineral deficiencies such as iron can result in fatigue. Minerals can be found in grains, meat, vegetables, and fruits.

  1. Proteins

Proteins are made out of amino acids. Protein is important to help your body maintain its tissues and promote muscle growth. However, some protein foods can either be fatty (for example, skin on chicken) or lack in 1 or 2 of the essential amino acids. As a result, make sure you get some variety in your diet, or remove the fatty bits from food. An adult should eat at least 1g of protein for each kg weight -- so if you weighed 70kg, you should eat 70g of protein daily.

The best sources of protein that are low in fat but high in protein include soy beans, kidney beans, lima beans, lentils, and wheat germ.

  1. Fats

Although most diets will instruct you to lay off the fat, some fats are important as they carry fat soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K. Not all fats are good for you though, so try and avoid saturated fats and trans fats.

Fatty foods to avoid include egg yolks, mayonnaise, custard, cream cheese, butter, sausages, hamburgers, and bacon.

  1. Carbohydrates

There are 2 types of carbohydrates - simple and complex. Simple sugars should be avoided, such as glucose, fructose, sucrose, and lactose. Complex carbohydrates are the best, and these include rolled oats, whole corn, brown rice, whole barley, whole rye, wild rice, whole wheats, and more.
