Getting increased and repeat web traffic and visitors is so important to your success online. You need to master these ten simple yet important steps to ensure your visitors keep returning again and again. Increased Website traffic and repeat visitors needs to be a daily focus for your business to ensure maximum exposure and optimum results.

  1. Keep the content on your web pages updated and relevant to the theme of your site. You don't want to distract your visitor or make it hard for them to follow the natural flow of your page. Sites that become stagnant or stale are dropped by some search engines.

  2. Your Website needs to offer extreme value, and keep regularly offering new value. This could be in the form of free reports or videos or even free training or newsletters. Offer links to recommended resources that you have used and don't just list a heap of links, again they need to be relevant and of value because as soon as you start offering rubbish products you lose respect and therefore visitors. Do not advertise or promote anything that is in direct competition with your own product or service.

  3. Always ask customers to 'opt in' to get something of value, for free. This is important. You will get more opt ins if you offer something like a free report of free training and your visitors are much more likely to return if you do give them something of real value for free.

  4. Build a relationship with the list of people who have opted in by regularly communicating with them via an autoresponder system. Regularly offer more value to your list and include the links back to your page or blog in your emails.

  5. Include Social Media share widgets and links such as Facebook and Twitter share widgets so that the visitor can share your website link, with their entire list of friends and contacts. Also include Facebook 'like' widget as more people will 'like' a page then they will 'share' a page.

  6. Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your site. Make the site free flowing and bold, simple yet visually stimulating. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and ensure you have a 'Contact Us' page or tab with every single contact option available as different people favor different contact methods.

  7. Create a disclaimer page if you are selling or promoting income producing products or services as well as a privacy policy as well so that clients know their personal details are secure when they visit your site.

  8. Create a Frequently Asked Questions page and make this available for your visitors. This needs to address the majority of the doubts about your product, service or company and clarify any payment queries that are likely to be asked. If you can resolve most of the customers doubts in their first visit to your site you will often prevent them from looking elsewhere.

  9. Each page or tab of your website must have appropriate, relevant titles and keywords so that your visitor can find their way around easily. Add a link or widget to your primary page with an option for your visitor to 'add to favourites' or 'bookmark this site'.

  10. Never spam a visitor or client with unsolicited emails. If they are on you mailing list, send them emails of relevance and value and allow them to get to know you. Later if they decide they want to 'opt out' of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They will be much less likely to opt out if you are not bombarding them with rubbish or irrelevant emails. They may still come back if they like you or your products
