Social media marketing plans are being used by major brands for getting almost any kind of promotional and marketing tasks done these days. So, is there any reason why you should not be using this technique to attract new talent to your company? Certainly not! In fact, these days, when so many people are social media savvy, this can be one of the best ways of hiring brilliant employees, who can add good value to your business and possibly even bring fresh ideas on board for your digital marketing and social media campaigns.
However, the technique should be applied carefully. Overdo it, and people interested in joining your roster are likely to become suspicious about the genuine value of your company. On the other hand, if you do it sparingly, then chances are that it will never be noticed by the right people. The trick is to find a balance, and stick to it. Here are some pointers to help you with that:
-
Listen to social media channels: Is an employee with a particularly good CV leaving his (or her) present workplace? People tend to discuss their career moves on social media channels a lot more than they do even with their closest friends. Make sure that someone in your company is keeping an eye on the stream of Twitter updates or LinkedIn channels for such news, and informing your HR team about the same. You never know what you might come to know from this.
-
Step in and interact: If your HR team believes that a particular candidate is worth approaching, then the first contact you make with him (or her) should be through the social media channel itself. Send a private note to the candidate with your offer. In some cases, this alone may entice the candidate enough to show up at your office doorstep.
-
Know where to draw the line: True, you may feel like a particular candidate is perfect for your organization, but do not show him (or her) all the aces up your sleeve. Let some discussions be done face to face only. Once you have made your initial offer, stop contacting the person at all. If he (or she) is genuinely interested in joining your company, then you can be sure of being contacted by them.
These three simple tasks and precautions should let you bring in a lot of fresh, new talent in your company. Make this a part of your social media marketing strategies, and you are sure to benefit greatly from it.
