The great thing about our skill set (NLP) is that you don’t have to absolutely feel good about something in order to do it. For example if I don’t feel good about myself or who I am at the time that I am working with someone, all that really matters is that I perform my skill set with artistry. The biggest myth in NLP that I have come across is that you have to feel good all the time. Sometimes you don’t feel good all the time. And that doesn’t matter. What does matter is that can you get yourself or the person that you’re working with unstuck.

Sometimes life sucks, sometimes life is a bitch. However that still doesn’t stop me from helping people. At the time of this writing I just received some really unfavorable news, stuff that really affected my sense of well being deeply, I’m still kind of limping a little from the news. Has it crippled me? No. Am I still running at full stride? Not exactly.

Sometimes you feel good about yourself, sometimes you don’t. NLP is about getting unstuck more times than you are stuck. Any time someone tries to make you feel like you should feel like your perfect just because you learned the skill set even though you had to deal with ‘bad’ news is full of crapola. Sometimes you don’t feel well.

Like today, like I said earlier I received some really unfavorable news. I still don’t feel 100%. But I went out with a friend we talked about life and what it is like to make people’s lives feel better. I was told two things about myself 1.) I should be a motivational speaker because they felt so good in my presence and 2.) I talk with my hands a lot, I must be Italian….(my model for anchoring is Italian lol).

What we do is not faith healing. It is real, precise and verifiable that is what we do should work whether we feel good or whether we feel like shit. Bottom line. You elicit a state, you go into it fully and you mark it out with an anchor. I swear on everything holy you will be able to recall the state regardless of how you feel at the time.

It’s a gift and a curse. It’s a gift sometimes how you can make people feel so good about their lives even though yours might not be going so well. It’s a curse because you helped someone to enjoy their life so much more even though you’re not feeling as good as you could.

That’s life. I could be like every other trainer and lie to you and everyone else out there in internet land and only post messages when my life is going wonderful and has no problems or I can share my thoughts, feelings and emotion through all of life’s ups and downs. It’s my choice.

I choose to be different than some of the trainers that I have met that are full of nothing but hyperbole. Your life should always be perfect, you should always be resourceful. There is not a bigger load of hogwash than that. Sometimes you don’t feel good. Sometimes you don’t like your life.

Shit happens. Fortunately for me though I’m selfish so every time I help someone make a change in their life I feel better.
