Why Nebulized Sinus Treatment Can Work for You

If you seek professional help, your doctor would most likely prescribe a combination of medications, including decongestants and corticosteroids (probably as metered nasal sprays) and the appropriate anti-microbial agent (such as antibiotics for bacteria or anti-fungal for fungi) which would most likely be administered orally. Taking medications through the mouth or topically as a nasal spray are currently considered the most common treatment approaches. But unfortunately, in the case of treating sinus infections, these treatment modalities may be affected by some factors that would make them less effective. For instance, oral medications may take a while before they take effect and frequent intake could increase the likelihood of developing systemic side effects. The active ingredients of medications in nasal sprays, on the other hand, may not be able to exert their intended effects if they don’t reach the distal portions of the nasal cavities and more so, the sinus cavities, because of congestion and inflammation.
