Many people think that to switch gas is a process of an individual's work but that is not correct. To perform a Gas switch requires a whole team and team work. The emphasis during the process of gas switching should be on the crew. The team unity can be optimized this way. The alertness of the whole team must be elevated to an advanced level at the time of the gas switch. Each participant of the squad switches to high partial compression of OXYGEN and the risk of O2 toxicity is greatly elevated.

Each affiliate of the group must be given equal attention during the switch gas. This is important to promptly detect any response to an arising problem and to confirm that every member is on the exact gas. This may seem a simple process yet it can be a big problem for those who try to do it quickly - and hence mess it up. All stage containers are shut down while not in use. It would prevent gas leakage unless we turn it on. It is also an additional safety step which prevents inhaling the wrong gas that can easily kill.

Some of the most common errors can be the following:

* It is easy to drift up or down during switching. The solution is actually to keep a check on the depth between every stage of the process.

  • It is easy to switch the hosepipes incorrectly. A clear mind is required to stay aware of the surroundings when switching gas is being performed.

While performing a correct gas switch the following sequence of steps are required:

  • Signal the team for a switch gas.

  • Signal when at the depth mark.

  • Check the extreme operation penetration of the deco bottle to switch to.

  • Verify the still properly pressurized regulator along with the first phase regulator. If there is no pressure, just make sure it gets accurately placed and then gradually switch gas on the tap and then shut it down. This lets the regulator receive pressure.

  • Detach the subsequent stage regulator from the deco bottle and wrap the hosepipe around your collar.

  • Verify the depth again.

  • Now take the device from your mouth.

  • Get the deco regulator inserted into the mouth with the other hand.

  • As you breathe from the deco controller, watch the force per unit area on the bottle. If the stress gauge shows a periodic decrease in pressure, then it is a confirmation test to check that your setup is working just fine.

  • Fully turn on deco bottle valve.

  • Signal your present depth.

  • Disconnect the longer hose.

  • Signal to the club to confirm the inhaled MOD of the container and also, confirm that you are inhaling from the correct bottle.

  • If the team signals positive, it is now the turn of the next participant to do the switch gas.

Deco period does not initiate until the whole squad has executed the switch gas shift. Gas breaks make the switch gas efficient.
