This is not an article about developing a positive attitude, harnessing the law of attraction or ways to win friends and influence people. Instead, I want to share concepts or mindsets that will help you to establish and grow an online niche business.
Bootstrap your Business
Have you heard of the term bootstrapping? It means to pull yourself up by your bootstraps. In business it means to elevate yourself up by your own effort, to supporting yourself and start your own business venture. The ease and affordability of doing business online allows anyone to start a business So go and find yourself a pair of heavy boots.
Don't I need investors? No, you don't.
It is better to build a business with your own effort, money and time rather than spending time seeking out investors. As, I just mentioned you can start an online business with next to nothing in the way of capital, so there really is no need to seek investors or borrow money from family or friends get started.
Learn From Your Failures
One thing that needs to be understood straight from the start is that most online business fail. I am not sure of the exact percentage but I believe it is as high as 80 to 90%. So you don't want to risk other people's money on your first online business.
I always encourage people interested in making money online to treat their first niche as a case study with a focus on learning how to make money online through trial and error. It is better to get out there and make it work yourself so you learn and grow from your success and failures.. Your losses will be minimal but you learning will be priceless.
Go small scale and then go big!
You don't want to take on too much too soon. Baby step your business process and focus on small success before going after big success..
Long Term Focus
All those "I made thousands of dollars in just 3 weeks 4 hours a day working from my kitchen in my underpants" marketing headlines are lies or extreme exaggerations. It is sales copy designed to manipulate people into making a purchase. You won't have overnight success with an online niche business. You need to have a long term focus for your online business to develop and become profitable. Ultimately, you will be paid for the value you create. It will take sometime for you to create a great value for a large amount of people.
