I think one of the trickiest things to work through in your business, especially when you are just starting out, is gaining clarity. Having a really solid vision of what you want and what you need to DO to actually get there.
There's so much information on the internet that it can be easy to get overwhelmed and come to a standstill.
Do not fear!
I am going to help you clear up this mess and gain some clarity in your business. Once you can see more clearly, it helps you refine your activities, and spend less energy on being confused, and more on actually GETTING to where you want to be.
Step 1: I already know that some of you aren't going to do this, but let me tell you this...it's one of the single most powerful things you can do to help you reach your goals.
Here it is..
Write down your goal and really imagine it.
Actually do it. Right now. I'm not going to tell you step 2 til you do step 1...
La la la la...
Ok, you're done...right?
Step 2: Work your goal backwards. What I mean by this is unravel what needs to change in order for this goal to be reached.
Let's take a little example.
You want to make an extra $1000 per month in the next 3 months. This is a great goal if you are just starting out or only making a few thousand per month. I've always found setting goals that are WAY beyond what I can believe in myself, just leads to frustration. So choose a goal that you believe you can attain in a shorter period of time, instead of a whopping big goal you want to achieve in a year.
So what do you need to do in order to do that?
Lets say you would only need to recruit 4 people per month and have your team recruit 4 people between them each month for you to hit $1000 extra monthly commission. Your company may not pay as well as mine, so work out the numbers for yourself.
This is totally attainable, especially if you use a marketing system like I do - in fact you'll hit your goal a lot faster if you use a marketing system like this, that incorporates multiple streams of income in to the funnel and will help your TEAM multiply quickly.
So now you figure out how many people you need to put through your marketing system, in order for you to recruit that many people. This is something you'll have to figure out for yourself, but I would estimate about 10-20 leads a day to ensure that you recruit at least one person, if not more per week and make multiple commissions from your sales funnel.
Again, a very attainable goal, especially if you have the right training to help you on your way.
Things are getting clearer now?
Step 3: Stay Focused AND DO IT. Every day, envision your goal coming to life and remind yourself of the steps that need to be taken to get there. Then TAKE the steps. It helps a lot if you have a mentor or sponsor that is there to lead the way too but the results lie with YOU and the focused action YOU take.
Remember this...this is actually something my dad sent me in an email one night when I was just starting out and had to stay up til all hours getting my business rolling, writing blog posts etc. I was so tired and determined to make this work, but hurdles kept popping up in my way...
He said to me - "Remember that at every hurdle there are OTHER people that will give up, if you stand up and keep running you're now ahead of 10% of the people that quit right there. For every hurdle you DON'T give up at, you are getting AHEAD of another % the rest and one step closer to success."
