Amumu " The Sad Mummy

Amumu, The Sad Mummy can be played mainly as a tank, or also as a hybrid ability power/tank. I personally prefer to play him as a hybrid, as I find that his abilities (even though they don't have a great scale of AP ratios) can be quite effective in team fights dealing AoE (area of effect) damage.

Amumu's ultimate ability has got to be the best of what he's got, however the cool down on it is ridiculously long " especially compared to some other champion's ultimates, which are way more over powered than Amumu's.

Passive:

Cursed Touch "

Every time Amumu attacks an enemy, the target enemy's magic resistance is lowered for 4 seconds. This is another reason why I think Amumu should be played as a hybrid, as the more often he attacks, the lower the enemy's magic resistance gets.

Ability 1:

Bandage Toss "

In my opinion, this is Amumu's most fun ability to use. It is a skill shot which means that if you land the shot, it's a lot more rewarding!

A Bandage Toss is thrown at a target enemy, and if landed successfully Amumu then pulls himself to the target dealing an amount of magic damage as well as stunning them for one second.

This is a great way to initiate fights or even when you are chasing an enemy champion down. This skill shot takes a lot of practice though!

Ability 2:

Despair "

Despair is a toggle on/off ability. While Despair is on, Amumu deals a percentage of the nearby enemy champion's health as magic damage per second. This ability can be very mana hungry, so be sure to keep your eye on your mana bar. If you can, try to get one of your team mates to help you get the Golem Mana buff so you can basically leave Despair on for the whole duration of that buff.

Ability 3:

Tantrum "

When you activate this ability, Amumu deals an amount of magic damage to those enemy units around him. The AoE of Tantrum is quite small, so I try to use this only in group/team fights. With a fair amount of Ability Power, Tantrum can deal a decent amount of damage and even secure kills.

Ability 4 (Ultimate):

Curse of the Sad Mummy "

This is a great ultimate ability but as I mentioned earlier the cool down on Curse of the Sad Mummy is way too long for what it is.

Amumu snares all enemy champions in the surrounding area, disabling their auto attacks and movement for 2 seconds. However, the enemies who have been snared are still able to cast spells (stupid, I know!).

I like to compare Amumu's ultimate to Ashe's ultimate. She has an arrow that is an AoE stun with a cool down of less than 70 seconds. The Curse of the Sad Mummy has a cool down of 130 seconds when it is maxed out. Doesn't make sense at all, right?

Conclusion:

As a wrap up, Amumu is a solid tank that is very dependent on his abilities. As soon as he is on cool down, he is pretty much useless (remember this).

I would recommend building items such as a Sunfire Cape and Banshee's Veil, as well as a Rod of Ages and Rylai's Crystal Scepter for some Ability Power and Health. I would also suggest prioritise levelling up Tantrum (after Sad of the Cursed Mummy, of course) as that is his main damage dealer.

What's with all the online games now days! I used to just play online pokies, but now days there are thousands of games to choose from. I will continue to review them all.
