With over four million work days lost each year to allergies, it's plain to see the need for relief! If your life is constantly interrupted by the symptoms of allergies, then you have happened upon the right article. Keep reading for some very valuable advice on getting control over symptoms and getting on with your life.
If your child is allergic to peanuts, it is vital to keep his or her school informed of this. Talk to the principal and all teachers to make sure they are aware of the allergy. Also, have them keep a note on file to cover all the bases. Many foods contain "hidden" peanut oils or peanut products. Even some cookies and crackers contain peanut product, so be diligent, for your child's sake.
Going for a run around the neighborhood may make you feel wonderful and alive, but pollen and spores in the air can quickly spoil the experience. This is especially true if you are already fatigued or are recently recovering from an illness. In response to these conditions your immune system is compromised, which makes you far more likely to experience a severe allergic response to allergens.
Whenever possible, choose tile, linoleum, or hardwood floors over carpeting. Even with regular vacuuming, carpet traps dust, pollen, pet dander, and many other common allergens. Solid floor types are easier to keep clean and allergen-free. If you prefer the soft feeling of carpet, rugs can be used. Area rugs trap less irritants, are easier to keep clean, and less expensive to replace.
One way to keep allergies under control is to make sure that your carpet is clean. This is critical because allergy-causing things, such as, dust mites will live in your rug and multiply unless you clean your carpet on a regular basis. Weekly vacuuming combined with bi-yearly steam cleaning should be enough.
Be sure to clean every surface in your home on a regular basis. If you are the one suffering from allergies, be sure to wear a mask while cleaning. Since you will be stirring the allergens up as you clean, the mask will help keep you from breathing them in.
Clean your home from top to bottom at least once per year, preferably in the spring. A deep cleaning can eliminate dust, dander, mold and other allergens. If this type of cleaning is too daunting, hire a service to complete the job for you. You can maintain the results yourself or schedule regular visits from the cleaning service, after the initial deep-clean.
If you have allergies, try green cleaners around the home to breathe easier as you spiff up. Not only will this make it nicer for you as you are cleaning, eliminating most of the strong chemicals that can aggravate your symptoms, but the cleaner your home is, the less dust, dirt and mold there will be to make you sniffle, sneeze and cough!
Many people can have allergic reactions to the household cleaners they are using in their home. Many times this problem can be solved by simply switching to natural products and getting away from chemical cleaners. Baking soda, plain soap, vinegar, and lemon juice can all be used to clean your home naturally.
Each year, more and more people are coming down with allergies from a number of different sources. Whatever your case may be, hopefully, you have found solutions in this article that will help you take control over your symptoms and get back to work, life or play. Life is too short to be ruled by allergies, so put the tips you have learned here to work for you, today.
