A multi-award-winning Virtual Assistant has launched a new guide aimed at helping others in the profession navigate the often-overlooked challenges of running a service-based business.

Vicki Wilson known professionally as Vicki Admin Fairy® has released Confidence and Clarity: The VA Companion, a practical resource created to support both new and experienced Virtual Assistants with the realities of day-to-day client work, confidence management and boundary setting.

The book offers scripts, calm strategies and confidence-building tools designed to help VAs handle the scenarios rarely covered in traditional training programmes, including difficult client conversations, imposter syndrome, pricing discussions and wellbeing protection.

Wilson is a familiar name within the UK’s growing VA community and has received a series of national accolades recognising her contribution to the industry. She was named Runner Up in the UK VA Awards 2024 (Solo VA category), Highly Commended Virtual Assistant of the Year at the Strategic PA Awards 2023, Highly Commended VA in the West Midlands PA Forum Independent VA of the Year 2025, and Runner Up in the Female Business Network Awards 2025. She also holds the title of Inspirational Virtual Assistant of the Year 2025 at the VA Awards.

Her entrepreneurial impact extends beyond award recognition. Wilson is a SmallBiz100 business for 2025, a Theo Paphitis SBS winner, and has received national acknowledgement at both the House of Lords and Number 11 Downing Street.

Drawing from her lived experience as a disabled business owner, Wilson says she wrote the book she needed when starting out. While VA courses typically focus on technical skills, she argues that the emotional and administrative pressures behind the scenes are often overlooked.

“Many Virtual Assistants are brilliant at the work itself, but the business side is where the confidence dips, the difficult conversations, the boundaries and that’s where people struggle,” she explained. “This book gives them the words, the strategies and the reassurance to handle those moments with confidence.”
