Most trade shows are swarming with individuals walking around looking for specific trade show booths with giveaway items with one purpose in mind, getting loads of free stuff. Trade show attendees are there to snatch up these free items merely to add them to an already filled bag. This is typical and all too common, yet, what do the booth workers do? What's typical for them and what is their part in this whole bustling trade show equation? Usually, most booth workers will put a pile out or lay out their giveaway items on display and then sit back, put their feet up and begin to read whatever material they are more interested and want to get lost in.

Getting Lost

Getting lost in a book while working a trade show booth is not proper trade show etiquette and at best is rather detrimental to any company's professional image. This is mind, all booth workers should have and use proper trade show decorum including the following: finding prospective business or customer leads, creating a relationship with individuals taking giveaways and acclimating one's self into the booth's theme.

Find Qualified Leads

Don't get lost in a magazine or book while tending a company booth! Being inattentive and lackadaisical as a booth worker will lead to losing well-qualified leads. The only thing a booth worker will gain for their company by being lazy behind a booth is a surplus of attendee traffic coming and going swiftly, taking giveaways and heading to the next or adjacent booth. Avoid this first by being observant and attentive.

Secondly, put the giveaway items close to the booth table one will be working and sitting near. This makes the attendees come to the booth directly, where upon arriving, can be initiated into a conversation by the booth worker. This is significant because at this point, as a worker, one can grab a giveaway item, ask a few questions and then hand the attendee their item after a few words were shared. Having active and engaging conversation instills a sense of appreciation in these individuals, but more importantly, a memorable message about the booth's business or offered services.

Acclimate To The Booth Theme

Become the booth's theme. Not literally, of course, but in the least, try to attempt becoming whatever theme or motif the company is pushing through booth setup and the coinciding giveaway item. Doing this will assuredly make one's booth distinct and desirable.

For instance, if you're an environmentally concerned or Green air conditioning company, why not use the theme "A Cool Earth Is Cool Living" and have a raffle for a top-of-the-line air conditioning unit? This draws in a crowd, by using the raffle as a lead. Then why not pass them a tiny electric fan with the company named printed on it after they've entered the raffle. The idea here is to utilize a theme to accrue quality leads and add to current company recognition.

Draw in a crowd with interesting Business Promotional Items, follow proper trade show etiquette and success will come exponentially for any company.
