Are you one of those people who have just about giving up on exercising to try and lose your gut? You have tried everything under the sun and nothing seems to help. You have a closet full of gizmos you bought from infomercials and you have tried every type of abs exercise / workout routines to no avail. If this is you, I have a few questions for you that when answered may shed some light on why you have not seen any reduction in your stomach circumference and will encourage you to continue doing your abs exercises.

Let me provide a few words of encouragement first. You should know that if you have been doing abs exercises, there is a very high probability that those exercises have developed muscles to strengthen your abs although you cannot see them. Accordingly, despite the fact that you can’t actually see your six packs yet, you have done well for yourself in doing those exercises because there are some unseen benefits as a result of doing them. A stronger core (abs) provides stabilization to your body and aides in transferring power from your upper body to your legs and back. In addition, the weaker your abs the more apt you are to developing lower back pain. So you could have relatively strong abs as a result of exercising despite the fact that you still have a layer of you know what covering them.

Before we start discussing how to get closer to getting those six packs, let’s talk about some things that could be hindering your efforts. One is a medical problem. I once had a female client that had a few kids and she said her doctor explained that unfortunately she suffered from a condition experienced while giving child birth that adversely affected her core area and that exercising would not tightened her abs. The moral to this story is, you might want to check with your doctor to make sure that you don’t have some sort of medical condition that may be affecting your abdominal area, especially if you are a mom and/or if you experience bloating. Bloating is a condition that can be caused by the type of food you eat or by a serious medical condition.

However, having said all that, the truth of the matter is that the majority of people are not getting the most from their abs exercises because they are still eating too much sugar and/or carbohydrates which caused them to store fat and/or they are not doing enough cardiovascular exercises to burn excess fat, which means that their abs have been developed, but they are waiting to be discovered and revealed.
