Spam and miss out on 5 Great Benefits!
Everybody knows that I'm dedicated to fight all the paid rubbish information polluting the internet. But my fight doesn't stop there! We have to put an end to all those spammers of Blogs and Forums.
Now, some of those spammers may be doing so accidentally, that is as newbie in the internet marketing world, they have read somewhere (maybe from me) that a great way to promote your site is to join Forums and comment on Blogs. This way you would get a lot of back links to your site.
The concept is correct, however how people implement it is dead wrong!
Honestly, if you have ever owned a blog or forum, or even just participated in one of those, how did you felt when you received comments like:
"Great blog, visit mine I'm now giving free stuff on my spam keyword at myspamwebsite.com"
Or worst, absolutely meaningless full of keywords and links to less than respectful sites...
All of this for what? To get a back link towards your site? Well let me tell some actual truth about this kind of practice:
-
99.99 chance that even assuming your link is posted, it has a "rel=no follow" tag and your link juice is 0.
-
99.99 chance that you'll be banned and blacklisted. Doing better and better...
-
100% chance that regardless of your depth of knowledge, you just appeared as a moron.
If you find those numbers attractive, then go ahead. If you think there must be a better way, keep reading.
Since you can't post your website (even just as a signature sometimes), what's the point to participate in forums and comment on blogs?
- Non spamming link. If your comment is actually pertinent and helpful to the author and the readers, your link may be accepted without looking like spam.
- Instead of a moron, you now look like an expert. It is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and experience to other people. Do so, and you don't need to force your link onto them, they soon will be asking you for it.
- Free reviews. That's right, as your authority increases some people will start to talk about you and what you have done for them on their own, that means that you'll be getting additional links and references beyond the blog or forum you posted in. (I know for a fact, it happened to me last week when one of the forum reader was so happy with the help I provided to him that he decided to thanks me by writing a recommendation with a link towards my site from his Twitter) Talk about credibility by then!
- Make friends. Remember that you make business with people. It's people who buy what you sell, not link numbers or SERP. Today you help them, maybe tomorrow you'll be the one in need of help.
- Personal satisfaction. Beyond links, business, ranking, I must admit that I love the feeling when I read the reply from somebody who feels so grateful for the help I have provided.
Whether you are an expert of a beginner, one can only benefit by participating genuinely is those interactive communities. Don't just post things like "cool", "great" but actually say something, something that you think will help the reader and give more value to the discussion.
The biggest mistake beginners make in Internet Marketing is to be overly focus on the link itself and the points it will provide to their PR.
I want to remind all of you that PR and links are just means and information to an end, not the end at all. Keep in mind that a link has no value unless someone click on it. Just consider the following cases:
- Case 1: I have a website with a PR4 and tons of links from the link exchange page 2-3 or many websites - unfortunately, no one has that much free time, or is that bored to read link exchange pages... (duh... do I need to explain why?)
- Case 2: I have a website with a PR0 and 100 links with a "rel=no follow" from the blogs and forums I'm active in and hundreds of readers from those places go visit my blog every day.
Which one do you think is the best?
Remember, I'm here to help!
