When it comes to all things technology, the Kindle Reader will not disappoint in its user-friendly features. This is true for both the technophile and the technophobe simply because the technical specifications the former loves can be translated into simple terms the latter appreciates.

Kindle Dimensions

For the technophile, the dimensions of the Kindle Reader - 8" x 5.3" x 0.36", 10.2 ounces, 600 x 800 pixel resolution at 167 ppi, 16-level gray scale in a 6" display – is like music to the ears. Or rather, easy on the eyes although it is music to the ears, too, with its 3.5 mm stereo speakers!

For the technophobe, all those numbers are meaningless unless it is translated as the Kindle Reader being ultra-slim (no bigger than the width of a pencil), ultra-light (no heavier than the standard magazine) while delivering ultra-clear texts and images (thanks to its readable monitor with texts that can be adjusted in font size and gray scale).

Kindle Connectivity and Capability

Technophobes, rejoice! The Kindle Reader does not have system requirements simply because it does not require a personal computer to download the Kindle e-books. This can be considered a standalone unit that technophobes will have less difficulty understanding.

Technophiles, on the other hand, will not be left in the dust. With the EVDO modem with fallback to 1xRTT and USB 2.0 connector for personal computer and Macintosh connections, users will be able to connect the Kindle Reader to these media as well. After all, compatibility is the name of the game with these tech gadgets.

Both technophobes and technophiles will love the Whispernet and Whispersync features of the Kindle Reader. Simply put, these features allow users to download Kindle products virtually anytime, anywhere in less than 60 seconds. With the expanded coverage of the Kindle network, Kindle Reader 2 users in all 50 states will be able to avail of Kindle ebooks, magazines, newspapers and blogs on the go.

And if you have more than one Kindle Reader, the Whispersync technology allows you synchronize your Kindle devices. You can read the same book from either of your two Kindle e-readers without losing your place in the e-book. Technophobe and technophile alike need not be confused with explanations in this aspect because it is easy to apply.

And as the Kindle Reader is the newest in wireless reading devices, cheapskate users need not worry about wireless bills. This is because Kindle pays for the wireless connectivity while users only pay for the purchase of the Kindle e-books.

Of course, the Kindle Reader will not be the leader in its market if it cannot hold as many books as possible. Technophiles will love that it has a 2GB internal memory, of which 1.4GB is for user content. On the other hand, technophobes will understand that this storage capacity translates to over 1,500 books in the memory! Nobody has any reason to complain with that number either.

Who knows? With the Kindle Reader, technophobes can learn more about technology and learn to embrace it more while technophiles can broaden their knowledge beyond the latest technological gadgets. Now, that is entirely possible with the Kindle Reader
