Our hair is a very complex composition. A lot of proteins vitamins and minerals are needed for keeping it healthy and growing. It is not enough to provide the necessary nutrition to the hair through our diet. Our hair needs a lot more of care, and that we should supply from outside.
The most commonly known fact is that proper shampooing is essentially important to keep our hair clean and tidy. But unfortunately it is a fact that we cannot shampoo each day because of various reasons. Besides this another thing should also be kept in mind that by having shampoo each day may also result in dry hair and may also cause hair breakage. The fact is that too much shampoo wipes out the essential oils from our hair making the hair rough and causing hair breakage. In that case it is recommended not to shampoo each day, instead its better to have shampoo every other day. It is helpful in both ways. One that it would keep our hair clean and tidy and on the other the risk of roughing of hair could be less. But that too cannot always do the trick. The essential oils and moisture are still lost by shampooing. In that case it is essential to supply moisture and oil to the hair. Therefore it is recommended that each time you have done shampoo to the hair have some conditioning also.
Now the question may come, what is the necessity of conditioning the hair? To answer this it can be said that to put the shine of the hair and restore its natural luster, proper conditioning of the hair is essentially important. In the most cases conditioners are applied to the freshly shampooed hair that has been dried with a towel to remove excess moisture. Conditioners should never be applied to wet hair or when the hair is totally dry. Leave the conditioner for a few minutes then rinse it off.
We can use different types of conditioners depending on the hair type and the need of treatment that the hair needs. The basic conditioners are used to coat the hair with a fine film making the cuticle temporarily smooth and making the hair glossier and easy to manage. We can also use conditioning sprays for styling purpose and protecting the hair against the harmful effects of heat.
To help the hair retain the natural moisture balance intensive conditioners are used. When the hair is split, dry, frizzy or difficult to manage, this type of conditioners are greatly helpful. For the purpose of intensive and deep nourishing treatment Hot oils are used as conditioners. When the hair is dry, you need to add oil to the hair. The "sebum" or the natural oil produced by the scalp gets wiped out when the hair is dry. Thus by using this type of conditioners helps a lot to restore the natural oils to the hair. Besides these are the leave-in conditioners. These types of conditioners are designed to help retain moisture, reduce static, and add shine to the hair. These conditioners are evidently good for thin hairs as they avoid conditioner overload, which can cause lankness. They are quite convenient and easy to use and are ideal for daily use. They are applied to the hair after shampooing and are not rinsed off. They provide a protective barrier against the effects of heat styling.
