Mole removal is considered for several reasons. For someone who has to live with multiple moles, it could be a traumatizing and stressful experience when the moles seriously mar the physical appearance of the person. The stares of strangers can be hard to bear. As for another group of people whose moles have grown malignant, ie the skin growth has turned cancerous; it is not exactly a choice for them. Lastly, you may be contemplating removing the moles because of the irritation and pain especially when they develop under the skin folds or are in constant contact with your clothing.
Yet, it is interesting to know that moles are not hated by all. Celebrities have been known for their beauty moles, like Marilyn Monroe. In such instances, the mole actually enhances the beauty of the person. I will share with you the dangers of clinical removal should you consider going to the dermatologist. I will also show you where to find a secret natural treatment that has set many free from their mole condition permanently.
Currently, mole removal is usually done clinically by your dermatologist or doctor at the clinic. You need to consult the dermatologist on your first visit to ascertain whether the moles are cancerous. What he/she would do is to perform a simple biopsy on your mole. A small sample is extracted from your mole for scrutiny under the microscope. Sometimes, the sample may have to be sent to a laboratory for further testing. Upon confirmation of the malignancy of the mole or moles, the dermatologist would then excise or cut of the entire mole including the surrounding skin tissue to prevent spreading of the cancer. The wound would then be stitched up.
Here’s a quick summary of the common mole removal methods and its associated risks should you decide to get rid of all your moles.
Cauterization/burning of moles using electric current. Cyrotherapy is the medical term for freezing of the skin growth to facilitate its removal. Liquid nitrogen is applied to the metallic tool such as forceps to freeze the mole before it can be removed. These procedures may be simple but the results hinge on the skillfulness of the dermatologist just like the success of a surgery depends on the surgeon. Skin burns or dyschromic lesions could result from the treatment. There have also been complaints by patients about permanent scarring.
Excision with scissors or scalpel is another mole removal method your dermatologist may recommend. However, you must be aware that it can be an excruciatingly painful experience for those who are sensitive to pain and blood. Though local anesthesia is administered, patients who have multiple moles can still find the sting rather irritating and uncomfortable.
Laser treatment is also available. Your dermatologist may suggest using this method to remove smaller moles. This treatment procedure is not suitable for larger moles as it cannot penetrate deep beneath the skin surface. Though this method is reputed to be thorough and neat, the expenses can be substantial if you need to remove multiple moles.
Other than the physical dangers mentioned above, there is another pitfall you need to be aware of. Mole removal for cosmetic reasons would not fit the criteria for medical coverage under your insurance policy. Read your policy document carefully and call up the insurance company to verify if the expenses are claimable under your insurance policy. There is a high chance that even appeals for claims would be rejected outright if the moles removed are benign.
Having explained the risks to you, you should be in a better position to decide whether you still wish to go to the dermatologist for a clinical removal. Recently, there has been a breakthrough discovery made by a long-time mole sufferer to permanently put a stop to his mole condition in 3 days with natural treatment methods in a safe and painless way.
