Roulette is a game of odds, the better your odds, the better your chances of winning. Sounds simple right? Beware; however, it is all too easy to bid more than you actually have a chance in winning. Your best strategy is one of simple mathematics, which is good, because you want to enjoy yourself.

If you can help it, stay away from the American Wheels. Try one on a free play roulette game, and you'll see the difference. Simply put, the American Wheels (not used in most live online TV roulette casinos) have the worst odds against you. These are the wheels that have the extra double zero which equates to double the odds for the house.

Fortunately, most live online TV roulette shows use the European wheel, which means that the house edge is cut in more than half and is just 1.35 percent. Again, I can not emphasise enough the difference. Be sure to try this on a free play roulette table to see the difference.

Be contentious and certain to verse yourself on any and all special rules which will favor the player. One such rule is called a surrender and "En Prison". The surrender rule applies to outside bets that pay only even money like odd or even, high or low, or red or black. You'll lose only half your bet if the ball lands on the zero or double zero (or no money if you are trying this out on a free play roulette table!).

Keep in mind though, this is damaging for the house since the zero and double zero account to the high edge for the house to begin with. You'll find that there are special times, told to you by the croupier, on live tv roulette online when this applies! You must remember, however, the payoffs aren't as lucrative for outside bets but do substantially improve your odds.

The " En Prison" rule is when the ball lands on zero and applies only to even-money outside bets. Here the bet remains on the board so the player doesn't immediately lose the bet (again, no loss anyway on a free play roulette table!), thus said to be in prison; although you may find the rules for live online tv roulette are slightly different. The fate of the bet is determined on the following spin. If zero appears the bet remains in prison. If the prior bet wins, the money is secured back to the player with no extra winnings, and if it loses, the player loses the money.

Earlier we spoke about house odds (or your odds, if you're playing free play roulette). The house edge is represented by the zero spaces. This edge for the European wheel is 2.7 percent versus that of the American Wheel at 5.26 percent. Fortunately for you, live online TV roulette tables almost always use the European table. Understanding these odds, placing knowledgeable bets, and learning how online internet roulette can be beat will provide you with the skills necessary to playing and winning online roulette.
