I started playing softball this past week. I haven't been on a team for at least ten years and I'm trying to remember all the ins and outs again. One thing I do know, however, is that it's better to have your bases loaded when you hit a home run and have four runs rather than having empty bases and only one run. I hope this article will help you see the importance of getting your bases loaded before using a drop ship directory.

I would like to address one of the most recurring problems I have seen during my time at a drop ship directory. It has been my experience that a lot of new business men and women, who want to drop ship, do not pay any particular attention to trend and season. I would like to address this issue and hopefully prevent the unfortunate demise of any future business owner who intends to drop ship products from a wholesaler.

I'll give you an example of what I'm referring to. Let's take an individual, we'll call him Bob; he wants to sell artificial Christmas trees. You may be wondering what the big deal is if the man wants to drop ship Christmas trees. Perhaps you are wondering why Bob shouldn't do it; is it because they're so bulky?

The truth of the matter is that it is going to be extremely difficult to make a profit on such a seasonal item. Hopefully Bob is speaking to a business coach who will correct the error of his ways. You see, Bob may not make any money on his product until the season to buy Christmas trees comes around again.

This is all well and good if Bob does not mind if his web page is making sales year round or not. Bob really needs to re-think his niche. People are not as likely to visit a site that sells an extremely seasonal item when it is out of season.

So, we've examined a niche idea that isn't going to be the most effective due to timing and the fact that it's too targeted, now let's examine an idea that fills a niche and can be carried over many seasons by changing with the new season. I think you'll find that it's easier to keep sales constant this way.

Choose a niche that's going to remain as stable as possible. For example, If you're going to dropship a product that changes with the seasons, make sure you have an alternate for every season. For example, someone who is selling spring themed candles will want to switch to winter scents when that season is upon them, even if it requires finding another drop shipper.

I strongly recommend keeping your bases loaded. That way, when you hit a home run with your product niche idea, it won't just be a home run, it will be a grand slam.
