To remove red, rough skin is not as hard as you might think. Follow these 3 simple steps and you will be amazed how red, rough skin can go away.
What are causes of red, dry rough skin?
Most of the time the main cause is just too much exposure to the environment. A hard or harsh work environment makes keeping the skin supple and free of damage is difficult but very achievable.
Our skin's health, which is the largest organ we have, affects how we feel overall. If it isn't in good shape then our whole body can suffer. We can be more susceptible to infections and viruses when our skin health is not up to par.
Since we are affected by the condition of our skin, it is very important that the following steps be followed.
Step 1: Protect Yourself From the Environment
The sun, cold or wind is probably the culprit that is causing most of the problems. Also environmental poisons (toxins), smoke and dust are very harmful.
If you work outdoors, wear gloves. Wear a hat that has a wide brim that shields your face from too much sun exposure. Clothes that 'breathe' are beneficial.
Using zinc oxide as a sun block works better than most sunscreen and is safer and kinder to your skin.
Step 2: Reduce or Eliminate Irritants
For example, most men use use a shaving cream and aftershave lotion that could be making a bad situation worse.
Instead of using an alcohol based lotion use a plant oil such as grape seed or almond oil. Also a moisturizer or facial fluid works very well.
Women should use a quality day and night cream.
Which leads to the next step
Step 3: Functional Keratin
To remove that red dry skin follow this step closely.
Functional keratin is an ingredient that slows down inflammation to skin that is exposed to the environment or just to shaving.
CoQ10 is an antioxidant that can reduce the rough skin look. Combining keratin and coq10 makes a very effective approach to restore moisture content that is needed to combat dry red skin.
For women: use a day cream and restorative night cream that has at least these two ingredients. Shea butter is another good ingredient to look for.
For men: Facial fluid with the above ingredients will do wonders for your skin.
In general use a good body lotion on the rough spots on heels, elbows and hands. Apply frequently and especially at night before retiring.
Personally, I know of many others including myself who faithfully use the above creams with the right ingredients and are getting amazing results.
