FiltaFry Success

There are a lot of misperceptions around concerning franchise ownership and just what it entails. Many people suffer under the assumption that as a business owner they will see large returns on their investment right out of the gate, or that because they are their own boss they will be able to build a successful business without having to put in the long hours and hard work. The fact of the matter is, when you start a business you are liable for whether or not that business succeeds. Much of your business's chances of success of failure hinge on just how much you are willing to put into you business. Running a FiltaFry franchise is no exception to this rule.
Getting Customers
When you first begin working with Filta to establish your FiltaFry franchise you will be assigned a Business Development Manager. You BDM will train you on how to present your business to potential customer, how to carry out demonstrations, and teach you how to effectively market your business. Beyond that, your BDM will work with you to establish a customer base of paying, scheduled customers. That's how much Filta wants its franchises to succeed.
However, once your Business Development Manager has helped get you started, it is up to you to see that your business continues to grow. If you aren't willing to do the legwork to continually grow your clientele, then it is unlikely that you will succeed. Furthermore, if you are a weak speaker and not able to promote your business, you stand little chance of success. There are only a finite number of food service businesses in your territory. If you manage to burn all of your bridges through weak presentation or abrasive tactics then you will find yourself unable to grow your FiltaFry business.
It is up to you, the franchise owner, to develop the presentational skills necessary. Granted, your job there is made somewhat easier by the inherent value of the FiltaFry service you offer. One demo is usually enough to convince a forward thinking restaurateur. However, it is your task to get your foot in the door to present the demonstration, and it falls to you to provide the quality service that will retain your customer base.
Working Hours
If the appeal of business ownership to you is the ability to work the hours that you want, then you might want to consider if FiltaFry is best for you. Yes, as the boss you can decide what hours you want to work. However, you have to consider which hours will actually be profitable. The bulk of your potential customers are going to be working during the early morning and regular business hours. If you are only wanting to work evening or odd hours, then you are going to find you pool of potential customers very limited. Furthermore, if you aren't willing to put in a full day's work, your FiltaFry business is not going to take off and be profitable.
The Bottom Line
The final say in whether your FiltaFry franchise succeeds of fails rests on you. As with anything in life, you will get back in proportion to what you put in. With a bit of hard work and determination, your FiltaFry business can be a winning financial success.
