When you say ‘marketing collaterals’, what you’re referring to are printed sales literature such as print flyers, brochures, catalogs, poster printing, postcards, among other things, that is used to present information to your target audience about you, your business and what you have to offer. They are pieces of communication that your company prints out with the goal of letting your marketing message be known by your target market.

The key word here is ‘marketing’. Your collaterals are used to market and promote your business – your company, your products and services, your values, your offer, your brand image. Hence, all your printed sales literature such as those done by flyer printing should then be in sync with what you have for your overall message and brand image.

When planning on printing marketing collaterals, you have to consider the following elements:

Design and Layout – When designing your marketing tools such as your print flyers, be sure to have printed materials that are visually attractive and appealing. Always remember that the first goal is to attract the attention of your target audience. The way to do that is to have a design and layout that would be inviting and appealing to your reader that they would want to read more of your message. Your design then should enhance and emphasize what you’re trying to convey in your marketing message.

Format – This includes your design components such as the balance, white space, fonts, color, paper material (the choice of stock and size), graphic images, illustrations, pictures, as well as the charts and graphs that you’re going to use to explain further your message. All these components help to add visual clarity to your message so your target audience would easily understand what you’re trying to tell them. They would help you to better communicate your message to your readers.

Message – Your message is your central focus of your marketing collateral. It is the final element that would make your target audience take your offer or leave it. Hence, your written text is the most important in your marketing tool. Whatever you have for your design, it will only complement or enhance what you have for your message. Here are some of the things you need to consider when writing your message:

• Is your information accurate? Is it up-to-date?

• Is your text easy to read?

• Are your sentences and words easy to understand? Are they written in a clear manner?

• Are your text and sentences grammatically correct?

• Does your information pique the curiosity of your target market?

• What is the tone of your written text? What do you want to convey in your overall tone? Is it appropriate to the type of audience you’re targeting?

• Were you able to communicate your benefits?

• Does your message have a call-to-action that makes your readers want to respond favorably to?

• Does it have all the necessary information to make it easy for your target audience to contact you?

Remember that your marketing collaterals are printed communications of who you are and what you can do. So be creative and make sure that your target market will be attracted to what you have to offer them.
