How to build muscle...it's not by accident

It's not by accident that you'll figure out how to build muscle. Very few people just wake up one morning and find themselves looking at a set of six pack muscles. Rather it is a well planned process.

My guess is that by you reading this article you are motivated to start on the path of developing a program that actually works. You're greatest asset in being successful is that motivation.

Those who achieve great results in building muscle have one common denominator - motivation. This is one of the problems you'll see at most gyms. The ratio of inactive members to active members is generally 3:1 to 5:1.

However, it is not motivation alone that will ensure you build muscle. Again to use our gym as an example, why do more than 67% of people quit going to the gym? Because most of them don't get results. And they don't get results because they haven't developed a plan that actually works. It's been said, â€Å"Fail to plan, plan to fail.

Creating a well thought out plan

There are a ton of places to go and figure out how this plan should look. Your local bookstore is an excellent place to begin. If you're a gym junkie, you could start by asking them to create a plan for you. However, one of the best places I've found information for creating an excellent muscle building plan is on the Internet.

Be careful you don't get scammed. If you've spent any amount of time online you already know how many scams exist. It took two weeks of researching and reading articles before I discovered the plan I'm currently using.

Two Things to do Immediately while you're developing your plan

  1. Find an accountability partner: This is one of the most important things you can do before you start. This person should be just as excited about your goals and final outcome as you.

They need to be someone you trust and who is reliable to check in on a weekly basis. Ideally, this should be someone who has gone before in this process. If not, just make sure they aren't going to flake after the third week. This is when you'll need them most.

  1. Start a pre-conditioning program: The intensity of your muscle building plan will require you have conditioned properly. The importance of conditioning is essential for you to start now.
