Depending on the severity of your vertigo, some of the exercises could seem very simple, but in the long run it is better to perform all of the exercises. One such exercise is trying to maintain your balance while standing on a level floor. Once you have completed this try adding this step to the exercise. Once you are standing still and balanced, sway from side to side while keeping your feet in a still position while still maintaining your balance.
Vertigo can be very debilitating. Individuals that suffer from it experience severe dizziness and overall discomfort. It is often difficult to stand and walk. When people have an attack, they are generally forced to stay in bed or hang out on the couch for what may be an extended period of time. As a result, not only does it affect men and women physically but it also affects their mental health because persons often have to take an unwanted break from life as usually.
Vertigo secondary labyrinthitis require a relatively conservative treatment. One of the distinct characteristics of labyrinthitis is the sensation of spinning around. An effective way to manage this is to lie supine within a dark room. Doing so can actually relieve the feeling of nausea. This condition usually resolves over time but nevertheless should be consulted to a physician to get medical advice. Antibiotic therapy is usually recommended by a physician in cases wherein bacterial infection is apparent.
If the person is normal, the eyes look right and left. However if the patient is positive for Barneys when the finger is brought to the far edge right and left of the patient's head the eye oscillates -- it goes back and forth, right and left 2-5 times per second at this extreme right and left. This is called nystagmus. The nystagmus only occurs to the side where the inner ear's semi-circular canals are irritated and define the cause of peripheral vestibular labyrinthitis or vertigo and it shows the side of the affecting problem.
Relax: avoid any quick body movements when you have a vertigo attack. Tension in the muscles around eyes, ears, the body line from the top of your head to your pelvic bone can also result in vertigo. Lie down in a comfortable position and release your muscles. Try to avoid any stress and have enough of sleep every day.
After some weeks or months the attack can either stop or improve. Nystagmus (shaking of the eye), nausea, vomiting and sweating are the symptoms. Moreover, some times the attack can last bit longer. Your physician can diagnose properly and he can also suggest some head and neck exercises to prevent vertigo.
Vertigo is caused because of ear infection. A typical ear infection called Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV) is what causes vertigo. Some believe that a respiratory tract infection is what causes vertigo. However, if anytime in life you have been hit by a severe blow to your head, you may suffer from vertigo. The best way to get rid of vertigo is to avoid extreme positions that cause it. Vertigo can also be caused by labyrinths.
