Have you heard of the phrase "less is more"? Well it is a wonderful concept and it also applies to your brochure printing. Yes indeed, in terms of designs, content and overall strategy, a "less is more" approach to brochure printing will always lead to better success with brochure based promotional campaigns. Let me tell you how this concept works by discussing three important points in terms of brochure printing.
Concise content means better brochures.
If you have been making brochures long, you might notice that there are some conflicts usually with the content creator and the designer of the brochure. Unless they are one and the same, the content creator or writer will usually want lots of text in the brochure to really get the message across. The designer usually does not like this since this means cramming the design with details and making the text look smaller.
That is why you need a less is more approach here when it comes to color brochure content. If you can compose your content in a concise manner, with the message delivered with fewer words and lines, it will always amount to a better brochure. People don't want to read color brochures with long boring text. Everything must be easily understood in a matter of a few lines. So make your text content as less as you can to get more out of them.
More organized color schemes work best.
In terms of colors, the lesser and more organized the color scheme is the better. Designs with four or more "dominant" colors won't work well. They will usually turn out too colorful for people to read, especially since there will probably problems with reading the text with too many colors. So always take a less is more strategy here and only use one or two dominant colors. You can just vary the lightness and intensity to make the design more interesting.
Compact design goes places.
Finally, in terms of the size of the brochure, it is actually better to have smaller brochures than bigger ones. Small brochure printing means that people will be able to carry and distribute those small color brochures easily. Larger ones sometimes can get too bulky in their own right, leading some people to just throw it away. Since smaller color brochures are just more convenient to take and read, it is a great example of using the less is more policy.
Hopefully this convinces you that less is indeed more in some aspects of brochure printing. So do not get carried away with all your options for your brochures. Sometimes it is best to use simple and lesser options to make the color brochure easier to read.
