Maintaining muscle growth during weight loss is significant because it helps in burning calories in the body. Leucine, an amino acid that regulates the build of muscle mass and thus reduces body fat resulting in weight loss. While body synthesizes most amino acids it does not produce leucine. The deficit of leucine in the body is fulfilled by protein rich foods like beef, dairy products, poultry, fish, and eggs.
