How to get your MOJO back!

Have you ever lost your MOJO? Many of us have been knocked down by the tough things in life; our career, major disappointments, our financial situation, family issues, and of course the ultimate MOJO thief: relationship drama!

I must confess, in the last year I have been through them ALL! Since I have learned how to successfully fight this battle, I wanted to share the tips I learned with you!

Many of you are looking at life right now, trying to figure out "How do I get my MOJO back?"

Simple: Put Operation MOJO into action!

Taking Control!

First things first: Stop crying, whining, griping, complaining and blaming everyone else for your current situation!

I know that's may sound harsh, but we MUST take immediate ownership for where we are at in our life, or it's almost impossible to get our MOJO back!

I understand we can feel like our parents could have provided more, your significant other should have tried harder, or your friends and family weren't as understanding as you thought they should be, but it's time for us to take 100% responsibility for our life so we can BUILD our MOJO and drive our selves to the successes in life we all desire!

Let's make sure we are on the same page here with how we got to this place in life that has are MOJO bucket empty. If we quickly go back and look at the decisions we've made, we'll see the effects they had on our current situation. We know there are some things we did that resulted in this frustrating situation. It's okay to accept that.

For some people, ownership and acceptance is a hard step. Some people want to say "No, I didn't do anything!" and maybe they ARE RIGHT! For some of us, we are where we are because of the things we didn't do, or the decisions we refused to make! But In either situation, we need to build the MOJO back!

It's Possible for You!

God put us here for a reason and a special purpose! We have all been blessed with the ability to achieve the success we desire in our lives when we give ourselves permission to be succeed. That success comes from understanding how to build the MOJO! Here's how we do it:

A - commitment to

COnsistently

Just doing what it takes

TO improve our quality of life

That's right, success is all about the quality of your life!

The good news is that I have seen success come in all shapes, colors, genders and race. I have seen people from poor families, rich families, strong families, and broken families achieve their dreams!

The difference between failure and success starts with our belief level.

Some people just don't believe that a poor black kid, raised by a single white mom, that came from the trailer park (like me) can be still successful.

But if I can be, so can you!

Once I learned to remove (and continue to remove) those "self limiting" beliefs of what "they" said I couldn't do, I realized that success was possible or me! Successful lives come to those who first believe, then start to achieve! So get your head in the game. We all deserve to be successful!

Clarify your vision!

This is a huge step, because now we know we can, but we still must create a plan! Here is where we have to dial in into what's important to us. If you have ever been driving your car 80 mph and just one tire goes flat, you know the results can be major! So let's make sure we have 4 good, balanced tires.

Those tires are our Spiritual life, Family Life, Career Life, and your Finances! When you are low on MOJO, it is incredibly important to crystallize your goals! What do you really want for you and your family? What are your financial priorities?

Often, when I coach people who have lost their MOJO we find out that it was something MINOR that started this momentum shift. In relationships you see this all the time. A couple could be fighting over such trivial things, but allowing it to mess up something so good.

One individual was constantly telling me how bad his relationship was, so I challenged him to write down ALL the negatives that were bothering him. He came up with a list of only five.

When it was time to look at the positives, he was surprised, because he had a list more than twenty! He did what many of us do: We focus only on the negatives.

When you lose sight of what your long term vision is, we get caught up in the little details that are easy to complain about, and you end up forgetting the most important things: The achievements!

Stop sweating the small stuff and get focused on the big picture!

Fail Forward!

When we notice things aren't going the way we want and we let our emotions take over, we start to view something that is just a temporary setback as a permanent failure!

One of the most tragic examples I have ever watched, was when a neighbor of mine committed suicide. He thought things were so bad that he used a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Many of us have thought the same things at work, with our kids or even our relationships! So get your mind re-focused, and use a set-back as an opportunity to be successful.

When Thomas Edison told the press just how many times he failed before he created the light bulb, he answered "None. I just found a few thousand ways it didn't work first."

Adjust your thinking to use EVEYTHING that happens to you to get yourself that much closer to your goal! This is why having a clear vision is so important. Because all we need to do is get our eyes back on the result we want and use this failure as a stepping stone to get where we are going!

Take Action!

I have crafted a formula to make sure what you do gets you what you want.

This MOJO Formula is S +A+A=R! That means the Situation you are in, plus the Attitude and Actions you have, will determine the result!

When you decide you want to handle your current situation, work it backwards.

ALWAYS start by deciding what RESULTS you want, then decide what actions you need to take, but make sure you use the RIGHT ATTITUDE that will WORK in that situation.

I can't even begin to tell you the price I had to pay to figure this out!

Remember that some situations in life don't come again, and that can lead to life- long regrets! Even as I tried to be more rational in the way I handled situations, it didn't seem to matter- when my Attitude and Actions didn't line up with the results I wanted!

So write this formula down and USE IT! It could save your job, your money, and important relationships! So it's time to get on it! Let's put operation MOJO into action today!

Step 1: Take Ownership

Step 2: Believe in YOU

Step 3: Get Clear

Step 4: Fail Forward

Step 5: Take the RIGHT Action
