Kids and photo books might seem like a strange combination to you, but it really isn't, especially thanks to modern technology. Digital cameras and digital photo book programs are both so easy to use that a child really can do it. You only have to supervise them during the process.

One of the many things that make kids and photo books a great match is that photo books are creative projects. Kids are very creative. They can turn almost anything into a toy or a story. So, letting them loose with a camera and seeing what they can come up with can be fun for them and also fun for you, as a parent.

Of course, it doesn't hurt to give them a little direction either. So, here are some tips to get them started.

Hobbies:

If your child plays any sports or has any hobbies, it can be fun for them to create a photo book devoted to that. They can take several pictures of their favorite hobby or sport and then, with your help, upload them to the computer. Then, they can caption the photos with descriptions of what was going on at the time or with silly jokes or lines to lighten things up.

Describing A Day:

Describing one of their typical days in a photo book can also be fun for a child. They can take pictures of what they wore, what they ate, where they went and what they did. They can even include fun pictures of sights that they saw along the way. Then, with your help, they can tell the story of their day with great captions for each picture.

Giving A Gift:

Having your child create a photo book to give to someone else as a gift is also a great idea. If someone in the family is having a birthday, anniversary or wedding, for example, a photo book makes a great gift. Deciding what to put in the book can be fun for your child and giving it as a gift can teach them the value of generosity. It can also teach them that, many times, home made presents are better than expensive items.

Educational Photo Booking:

Finally, don't be afraid to inject a little education into your child's photo book projects, but make it fun. One way to do that is to ask them to find one of something, two of something else, three of something else and so on for a counting book. They could also create books with shapes, patterns, letters or words that way. So, they'll be enjoying themselves and learning some useful things in the process.
