If you are serious about losing weight fast, then you must be prepared. It will be no easy task, but it is definitely possible. When you're overweight, what you need is a long term solution. One that gives you permanent results.

If you get a little sidetracked off this ultimate goal, it could take you months, if not years, to regain what you've lost (or should I say, "to re-lose what you've lost"). But don't fear, it is entirely possible to reverse the process of gaining weight and to rid pounds of fat (especially stomach fat) forever!

So what does this involve? Well, there are several things:

1.Don't skip (a healthy) breakfast - It seems that people are too busy minding about other things except when it comes to something as "unimportant" as their health. A wholegrain cereal with low fat milk or even a fruit salad will be great for the start of your day.

2.Eat regularly - The traditional 3 meals a day doesn't encourage your metabolism to work faster, but eating 5-6 smaller meals during the day will and help to reduce your body fat more quickly.

3.Eat healthily - Don't eat any fried or fatty foods, especially fast/takeaway foods - that's IF you want to lose weight!

4.Exercise regularly - Aim to exercise at least 3 times a week for at least 20min per session. Walking is said to be one of the best (and probably easiest) ways of losing weight.

5.Adopt healthy habits - As well as regular exercise, this also involves eating at the appropriate times. Eating too late at night (e.g. after 9pm) will make the food you ingested stored as fat in your body. (And unlike alcohol, you CAN'T sleep this one off)

Also, most people rush their food, as if they were about to die of starvation. This is obviously an unhealthy way of approaching the way we eat and so, you should eat slowly and in small portions. You'll soon find out that if you were to wait a few minutes after you've finished your meal, your body will actually feel full and there's no need to cram down dessert.

It sounds almost impossible to lose weight - hearing the sound of dessert but forcing yourself not to eat it - but this is all part of the plan. If you stick to it, you WILL find yourself losing those pounds and feeling better, both physically and mentally, and then soon enough, you will be able to indulge yourself (occasionally) later on.

An extension exercise is to get into a cardio and ab workout. This could involve going to the gym or hiring a personal trainer to get rid of the stomach fat that's building up in your midsection. This is only an extension and it'll obviously accelerate your journey to weight loss but if it's too much of a hassle for you, then you can just stick with be being happy and healthy.
