Wake boarding is a water sport like water skiing. The sport is done using a wakeboard which the boarder rides above the surface of the water. This sport is similar to surfboard and is pulled at the back of the boat. Like in water skiing, riders are pulled behind the boat in a slower pace of 16 - 23 miles per hour. Wake boards can turn faster, jump higher, flip over and pull harder. The floating boards are 120 to 147 cm in length depending to the weight and 45 cm in width.

Wake boarding Tricks:

  1. Speed is increased by pumping. This act is being done by pushing down and letting up by the front foot in the board, if you turn in or out of the wake board, speed is gained.

  2. If you are "up" in the wake board, speed up slowly facing the boat up to the time you felt comfort on yourself.

  3. You can do tricks on the surface, spins, grabs, inverts, etc.

Tips on Wake boarding:

  1. First, you must know the fundamentals and the difficult stuff can be easier to learn as you move on.

  2. Do not forget to put on your life jacket and observe correct boating safety, even if you are already good on wake boarding.

  3. Do not feel hopeless even though you can not get up on the wake board immediately.

  4. For safe wake boarding, you can utilize inboard boat. With this boat, the propellers are hidden to ensure the riders to follow around 3 to 7 feet at the back of the boat. There are lesser hazards in using inboard boat.

  5. Stay slowly. Do not depend in the speedometer because it can give wrong readings frequently. Gradual raise in speed keep the balance up and aid in dragging efficiently and easily.

Tips on wake boarding for Beginner

Here are some tips to follow: Make sure you feel comfortable in any foot you put forward; if you are in the water always keep the wake board in the side. Refrain from stopping the board in swaying around the mount; put your arms at the side of the knee in front and bend down making it easier to sway in a standing position; when you are standing up put almost half of your load in your front foot; keep the speed slowly while starting, making it easier to go up and let the motorboat go faster later; beginners can use short rope to make an easier launch; make sure that unexpected jerks are not present in the boat.
