So much success has been heard on the use of door hangers as marketing tools for many businesses. Nevertheless, still many had a lot of difficulty to work up the nerve to actually walk to the door and knock. Not too many people really like the idea of sales people standing on their doorstep and having to talk to them about new products and services. If not the door is slammed in your face or the prospects just doesn’t want to open the door at all, the idea of having print door hangers for your marketing arsenal is one great way of getting your foot one step further to your target clients’ homes.
The general idea actually is to leave your ‘hanger’ in someone else’s doors without having to bug them. It is the message on your print door hangers that would make the piece attractive and worth reading. Something to the effect of "Visit my website for more information", or "Call now for a quote", and even "Click on the website to learn how you can earn more."
These are the messages that would make it worthwhile for your target clients to reach out to you. You wouldn’t have much success with the knocking. You will only be viewed as someone who doesn’t have much credibility that you resort to doing your marketing by forcing yourself to them.
You can also try to make your door hanger stand out by creating a design that is either three dimensional or with brilliant colors. The idea is to have your prospects not only attracted but curious enough to want to get to know you more that they call you or visit your website for more information.
The beauty of door hangers as promotional tools is that you make it possible for your business to be promoted without having to scare the hell out of your target clients. You give them the option to learn about your business at their own pace. You just hang them and leave your print door hangers behind and wait for the leads to come to you. Then you get to focus on other things to bring in revenues, e.g. following up on inquiries and leads that actually made an effort to get to know you and your business.
Despite people being doubtful and afraid to open doors, door hangers have been successful in getting these prospects to try out products and services. All that effort and energy that you give to your marketing campaign will be worth it every time one or two prospects actually make an effort to learn about your business and what you have to offer.
