• Improper maintenance of the bus
• The driver is distracted while driving because he/she is using his/her cell phone
• The driver is driving even while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• Inadequate security provided to the children while they are disembarking, boarding, or while they are in the bus
• The driver was not able to check if the brakes if the bus are in proper condition
• The driver chooses to continue driving even when there is poor visibility on his part due to snow, smoke, rain, or fog
• The driver was not able to follow the traffic laws
• The driver lacks sufficient training
• The driver is tired or sleepy while driving
Children who are involved in a school bus accident that occurred due to one of the reasoned discussed beforehand may suffer from different kinds of injuries. Some of the injuries that may be sustained by children are the following: brain injury, internal organ damage, fractures, broken ankle, spinal cord injury, friction burns, and brain injury.
