From top to bottom we have:

  1. This Jabba the Hutt playset was made by Kenner Products (a subsidiary of General Mills) back in the 1970s, though this particular toy dates back to the 80s. It was the company that had originally obtained the licensing for the Star Wars toys and I think they did a pretty decent job on Jabba and even the bong and minions.

What I like about toys that really do not match modern technology is that you can recapture the sense of wonder that the first viewers of Star Wars felt. Sure, his skin looks pretty plasticy, but it's what he represents, you know? It sure never seemed cheap looking to some kid 30 years ago. You can get this bad boy on Ebay for under $10 if you don't insist on it being in mint condition.

  1. Behind door number 2 we have a Jabba the Hutt figure from Lego, which is actually a part of the larger Sail Barge playset (which costs hundreds of dollars), but it's pretty frequently sold separately.

This one is really the least accurate of them all, but it does have a certain charisma. The Sail Barge set actually also comes with a little Princess Leia figure which is basically a lego woman with a sort of coconut looking bikini and molded hair. Nothing sexy here folks.

I'd say this guy is more for those who love Lego and Star Wars. The dude can be found online for around $40-$60.

  1. This last one is a Star Wars Miniature Series Rebel Storm collection piece that I think is the most accurate and photorealistic figure of the bunch. I mean, compare the bong in this picture to the one in the first picture. We're going from I Dream of Jeannie to Harold and Kumar here. I see a lot of price variation on this one--anywhere from just a few dollars to almost thirty, really depending on if it's used or not.

Of course, there are a few other models of Jabba that have been produced over the years, such as one set coming with a Han Solo figure, but these just happen to be my personal favorites.
