A person who wears a perfume is not necessarily a refined person. On the other hand, a person, who wears a perfume that is suitable for them, is a person with good taste. Thanks to the myriad manufacturers, there are many sorts of perfumes that you can try and see if they compliment your personality.

The world of aromas is complex and they inspired the perfume producers to the best combinations that are available on the market. The perfume categories are numerous: Floral, Oriental, Chypre, Green Marine, Floriental and Fruit. You probably have some favorite scents, so when you want to choose a perfume, these favorite scents can be your guide. Typical plants used to make scents consist of bay leaf, bergamot, cardamom, cedar wood, eucalyptus, frankincense, gardenia, geranium, iris, jasmine, lavender, lemon, lilac, lily, magnolia, moss, orange, patchouli, pine, raspberry, rose, sandalwood, vanilla, violet and ylang-ylang and the list could continue endlessly. The animal scents used are musk, which is from the male musk deer, ambergris, civet and others. The perfumes are made of around 75% of denatured ethyl alcohol and the rest is essential oils. The perfumes are the most concentrated in essential oils, more than the eau the parfum or the eau de toilette or the eau de cologne. After all the components were added to the mixture, a fixative is added, which can maintain the odor for many hours on end.

When you want to choose a perfume, you have to apply it on a part of your body where the blood stream is abundant, such as the wrist or the neck. You must know that each perfume smells differently on each individual, because it mixes with your natural scent. So, if you like the smell of a perfume on someone, it doesn’t mean it will smell the same on you. Also, when you apply the perfume, you will only be able to smell the first layer of the scent. So, make sure you wear the perfume for a day, to be able to feel all the other layers of fragrance as well. Only after that will you be able to tell if you like the perfume or not.

And remember, the perfume that is the hottest or is most advertised is not necessarily your perfume, so make sure you don’t jump on the most popular perfumes on the market. Buy a perfume that suits you and you will feel comfortable in your pleasant smelling skin.

Well written, informative and educational article...Great point made - the perfume that is the hottest or is most advertised in not necessarily your perfume! Each individual's body chemistry is different. Although the perfume smells great, it will smell differently from one individual to the next. So, if in doubt, ask someone whose opinion you respect to get a true assessment of how the perfu smells on you.
