The uncontrollable desire for eating, often termed as compulsive overeating, is considered as one of the eating disorders. There are people who are unable to stop overeating when it comes to that. They will eat when they are happy, sad or simply bored. Often this urge of eating strikes them at any moment...just like that, which is commonly known as ‘binge eating’.
Examples
Some people are often seen and known to eat a large amount of food when they are triggered by some kind of emotional point. Also they are often found with no reason at all. These people often eat because they are bored.
They also eat after just eating an unusual amount of food and they usually eat a lot more that others and a lot faster. These are people who have an overeating disorder, which will eventually lead them to obesity and other diseases associated with obesity. Also sometimes you can find people whom you know to be obese long before they had started overeating.
Why Overeat
Often this is categorized under a eating disorder. Although why people overeat is a question we may never be certain about. Studies have shown that there may be a close relationship between depression and overeating and although some scientists claim that depression may cause overeating, many others do not believe this.
Actually studies have only shown that in most cases people with binge-disorder has a history of depression, so which one causes the other or whether they have a common cause or not is not for certain.
Also it is also been observed that many person have developed the habit of compulsive overeating after they had started dieting in an effort to stop weighing more. Genetics is another issue when we need to find the cause of overeating.
How to Stop
Obese people often show the tendency to lose weight. They even start dieting effectively only to undo it after some months. Perpetual dieting, which is defined as the condition where people starts and stops controlling their eating periodically, is often common in their life.
The true nature of overeating problem is that that it has no formula for success. This can only be overcome with sheer willpower and an ability and willingness no stick to their program of stop overeating no matter how frustrated or weak they feel.
The food-addiction is one of the most common diseases all through the world that is impartial to gender, age or race. Obesity, another major illness and obstacle of having a nice physique and health is often related to overeating, though not necessarily.
Compulsive overeating is treatable 80% time with therapy and medications. Programs like 12-step programs and others are being followed by a lot of people having the same overeating disorder as you both by commercial and non-profit organizations. So if you truly have the will to stop overeating, it’s only a matter of time!
