Prince Edward Island Summer Camps

Prince Edward Island offers many once in a lifetime experiences through its summer camp program where it is possible to learn from and to work alongside artisans, fishermen, culinary chefs, farmers, and musicians to name a few. These people love what they do and are willing to share with anyone teaching them and passing on their expert knowledge in the hope of finding that one special individual willing to step into their shoes and carry on.

Spend a summer learning to sail the coasts of Prince Edward Island. This could mean on a fishing charter booked to go after tuna, a kayak or canoe, a sailboat or a even a para sail. The choice is yours. If cooking is your cup of tea then check out the cooking boot camps that specialize in how to prepare seafood, or how to serve chocolate with what kind of wine, or how to grill out and be a success the first time out, or even lessons for the kids on how to prepare simple meals at home.

If your life is about theater and dance then check out the Confederation Centre of the Arts which sponsors one to two week camps for the young actors and dancers who live under your roof. In addition there are workshops in mime, how to be a clown, ballet, martial arts, voice, acting and film editing available. These workshops and camps are also available for the adult but young at heart wanting to learn something new. Or maybe you'd prefer to be on the other side of the camera as the photographer, well the Centre also offers several camps designed to make people better photogs and videographers.

Summer camps held in Brudenell River are for equestrians and wannabes who love horses and beautiful scenery through which to ride. These camps offer a four and a half mile kilometer jaunt along the Brudenell River beach and woodlands. Riding helmet are provided, however there are age and weight restrictions in play here, so check out requirements before booking your reservation.

Some people just want to spend their life golfing and that is okay on Prince Edward Island. The Canadian Golf Academy is located at Fox Meadow in Stratford and features half day camps for young people all summer long. Adults can sign up for clinics or lessons lasting one to five days according to expertise. Some clinics are gender specific. In other words women only or men only to make the lesson more effective.

Wintertime activity camps are also available for hockey, cross country skiing and ice skating. Ask your travel agent to help find the best camps available for your level of knowledge and expertise.
