When visiting Mendoza, hotel accommodation is not that easy to find without previous reservations. That is because great deals of tourists from different parts of the world come to Mendoza every year to spend their holidays. The magnetism of this city relies on its combination of the energy and intensity of a contemporary metropolis with the tranquility of an historic town. Its streets are very peaceful and offer the perfect scenario for a quiet stroll in a sunny afternoon. As it gets darks, many pubs and cafés open their doors and it is possible to have a drink or eat some snacks before retuning to the hotel. As one of the most important tourism centers, Mendoza offers a wide diversity of interesting attractions.
The province of Mendoza is placed in the beautiful Cuyo region, next to the Andean Mountain Range. Its valleys display amazingly attractive landscapes, which challenge the senses of any human being.
Winter is just like those scenes in the movies with the snow flakes covering everything with a immaculate soft glow, like a fragile cotton blanket. That is how ski season is started and snow trails become really crowded by skiers with several experience levels, from experts to entire families. The proposals for winter sports fans are quite abundant. The Aconcagua Snow Sky Park may be the major attraction among the extreme outdoor activities. It is 2,635 meters high and it has 4 snow tracks. Los Penitentes is another ski resort, 168 km away from the heart of the capital city, so it can be reached easily taking a bus or driving a car. It has 25 runs for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Las Leñas ski resort is a little further from Mendoza city, 430 km away. It has 28 snow tracks and 13 lifts for an easy access to the runs.
Yet, Mendoza is much more than snow and ski resorts. Cuyo region is worldwide regarded as the land of sunshine and good wine, due to its extraordinary weather and its international famous wine production. The traditional Wine Route gets together the most important wineries along the region, so tourists can visit them and get to know the essence of the wine making process. There is no need to return to Mendoza, at the hotel and wait for dinner to get the opportunity to drink some wine. Wine tasting is done right there, achieving a more intimate connection with Mendoza’s premium products.
