I am convinced that the quality of life is enhanced by the quality of food that people eat and enjoy. This book proves that even a person with a chronic and incurable disease can still cook and eat a delicious diet that can be shared with family members and guests. I'm not much of a cook but my favorite recipes are the Garlic and Feta Cheese Dip, Chicken Corn Chowder, Chicken and Green Bean Stovetop Casserole and Peach Bread Pudding.

At the back of the book I found an excellent resource list of websites and organizations every diabetic should have bookmarked in their favorite web browser. There is also an exchange list that covers starches and bread, vegetables, fruits, milk, meats, fats, free foods, combination foods, food for special treats and tips for measuring foods. My favorite appendix is the instructions on creating herbal and other seasoning mixtures. You have the choice of using fresh or dried herbs to create mixes such as a Cajun blend, a Mediterranean blend, a stuffing blend and more. These blends have no fillers and are all taste.

The EVERYTHING® Diabetes Cookbook 2nd Edition makes a fabulous gift both for a diabetic and those who suffer with metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol and hypoglycemia. It is important to remember that this book does not offer medical advice and readers should consult with their physician before starting a new eating regimen.
