Just about every problem has a solution, and aging is no exception. Although anti aging skincare may seem like an attempt to go against nature, the truth is, it is simply a way to rejuvenate and preserve yourself by taking care of your skin. Many people are skeptical about using anti aging skincare because they'd rather not make the financial commitment. However, the good news is that simple anti aging skincare can be inexpensive if it is done correctly.
- Cleansing. While it may seem like a no brainer, properly cleansing your face is an important step in the anti aging process. Although you don't want to make the mistake of over cleansing your face, you want to cleanse your face at least twice a day. One of the quickest ways to speed up the aging process is to sleep in your makeup.
For the occasions when you're too tired to wash your face at the end of a long day, keep some makeup removal wipes by your bed in case of an emergency. It is best to only do this occasionally because it is still important to actually wash your face with a cleanser and water. However, it is better to use this method instead of sleeping in your pore clogging makeup.
-
Serums. It is a little known fact that serums are one of the most effective anti aging products on the market. Instead of simply sitting on your skin, serums actually soak into your pores and offer dramatic results. Because of their molecular makeup, serums allow you to layer more than one serum and receive the benefits of several serums at once.
-
Exfoliation. If you've never noticed that your skin doesn't look as bright and supple as did a few years ago, then you are not alone. As we age, our skin loses its ability to regenerate itself. Many people avoid exfoliation because they are afraid of damaging their skin. If you have a lot of acne and blemishes, you have to be careful. You don't want to run the risk of scarring. Many times exfoliation can actually help to clear the pores and prevent future breakouts. Using a gentle exfoliatior on a daily basis will keep your skin looking younger and smoother.
-
Sunscreen. Instead of trying to outsmart the sun's damaging rays, applying sunscreen on a daily basis will help protect your skin. If you are nervous that a sunscreen will irritate your skin and cause breakouts, then be sure to use a sunscreen for your skin type.
For instance, if you have oily skin, use a sunscreen that is oil free, and if you have dry skin, consider a sunscreen that will offer your skin more moisture. It is a good idea to check with your dermatologist to see exactly how much of an SPF you should use, however most people should use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15-30.
- Water. Just like your skin needs topical moisturizers and serums, it is also important to moisturize your body from the inside out. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water per day will not only leave you feeling younger, but it will keep your skin clear and hydrated.
Your skin is important, so even on the days when you don't feel like following your skincare routine, remind yourself that proper skincare is important to the fight against aging.
