The Least Used, Most Valuable Feature of WordPress
I have done a countless number of WordPress installs. Each time, I do diligence in installing the essential plugins, the right theme, code customizations and all the other things that are needed to launch a blog. Up until recently, I didn't give much thought to the "Post via Email" function. I really don't know why I didn't give it more thought, but since I've started using it, it has been one of the most valuable features that WordPress has to offer. In an epic "Aha" moment, I realized that I should be using this function for article marketing!!
Here's how I use Post Via Email
For a couple days, I used the Post via Email function to send my posts to a test blog to see if it was a viable way for me to update my WordPress sites, and I found that it really works well for updating from either a mobile device or tablet.
You get to the settings from the settings menu in the dashboard section of your wordpress site. The link that you want is under "settings" and is called "writing". The "Post via Email" is found about half way down on the page. You'll need a pop3 mail box that you can email posts to. I recommend using LavaBit at http://lavabit.com/ if you need to get an email account that has pop3 enabled.
Set up your email address with a hard to guess (hard to spam) username. For exampe, I signed up with something like ag36k4jh233@lavabit.com. Now my blog, cashgeneratingblogs.com goes to that address and checks for posts that I have sent via email.
The true power of Post via Email is when all your backlinking blogs, or wordpress sites that you've set up just to repost articles to for backlinks, are all checking one email address. You instantly are posting to multiple blogs all at once, and it even works with wordpress.com blogs too!
I have set up close to 50 wordpress sites that have a sole purpose of backlinking to my hubsite called Cash Generating Blogs.
Cash Generating Blogs is committed to helping busy people make more money on the internet.
